Texas has many reasons to be proud, one of them is the hard work happening every day in our public schools.
The newest STAAR® Reading Language Arts (RLA) results are in and grades 3 through 8 are scoring higher than ever. This success is the direct result of the dedication and determination of Texas students, educators, and families and it is paying off.
It is not just reading scores that are on the rise. Science and math scores improved in many grade levels, showing that progress is happening across subjects.
Despite the challenges and obstacles placed before them by TEA and many in the Texas legislature, Texas classrooms continue to inspire, proving what is possible when students are supported, teachers are empowered, and communities believe in public education.
Let us celebrate these wins and keep lifting up our students as they aim even higher.
