Cleveland ISD's Adult ESL class celebrated its very first graduation ceremony! Forty one family members of district English learners completed the seven month long program, and got to receive their certificates with loved ones and success all around! The district plans to double enrollment for the English as a Second Language course for adults next school year.
English as a Second Language (ESL) is an intensive instructional program designed to develop proficiency in the listening, speaking, reading, and writing of the English language. All instruction is provided in English and utilizes the Texas Essential Knowledge Standards (TEKS) and the English Language Proficiency Skills (ELPS) for the development of English language skills and the promotion of academic success.
Congrats to these recent graduates for their hard work, dedication, and achieving a huge milestone!
